We have our flights!

I just received my flight schedule....this is really happening! As soon as I read it, I was filled with many mixed emotions....excitement, joy, fear, and a bit of anxiety! I can not wait to get there....especially after reading all of Ashlie's updates and seeing her photos...the need for us is so great...but I have never even left the country before, let alone traveled without my family across the world for 2 weeks! I know that there is no room for fear or anxiety as I begin this journey...I have been spending more time in prayer, asking the Lord to prepare my mind, body and heart for what is to come. Never in my life will I have to rely so much on my faith! If anyone has any words of wisdom...or any helpful hints to pack for this climate (has to fit in carry-on) I would be so grateful!

Doctor's Visit

I finally made it to the doctor today...it went very well...left with four different prescriptions to fill before I depart, a order for blood work, a sore arm (tetanus shot) and a clean bill of health to travel! Many thanks to Dr. Sharma! Next on the list...finish remainder of vaccines at the health department asap, finish collecting and organizing donations for the orphanages, get supplies, pack and pray that I can raise the rest of the money I need to get there! I don't know where the time has gone...I kept telling myself I had plenty of time to get things done and now I leave in just a few weeks! So exciting!

Little over 30 days until we leave!

I can't believe we will be on our way in just a little over a month! I can not say thank you enough to everyone who has offered their support and prayers on this journey. I am truly blessed! Over the next few days, I will post our trip itinerary. Please continue to pray for me and all others on this trip as we prepare to leave...thank you!

Monday, March 15, 2010

On Monday, July 19th I will be heading to the orphanages of Africa with 25 other amazing people to hold, love, nurture and share the love of God. I can't put into words how excited I am to be a part of this amazing trip. I knew that I would go on a mission one day, I just never imagined it would be this soon and to Africa! I have never really had a strong calling to anything specific, but when Ashlie called me that day to tell me she wanted to do this, I knew immediately it was the trip for me!

Thursday, March 18th is our first trip fundraiser! Applebees will be donating 10% from each check of people who bring in one of our flyers! I have flyers to give you, or if I won't see you before Thursday, we will be there with a stack! If you can't make it, please just keep this fundraiser and this trip in your daily prayers!

Lots of Love,

Lindsey
